For New Science Teachers, a Chance to Explore

October 5, 2016 2:42

The Exploratorium, a “hands-on” science museum in San Francisco, offers a specialized induction program just for new science teachers. Focused on developing inquiry-based instructional skills, the program also offers teachers the support of a professional “guild” of scientists and science educators.

Coverage of policy efforts to improve the teaching profession is supported by a grant from the Joyce Foundation, at www.joycefdn.org/Programs/Education. Education Week retains sole editorial control over the content of this coverage.
